Common Troubleshooting Steps

1. "MS UNAVAILABLE (Retry Later)"

Cause: The national tax authority database in the queried country (e.g. Italy, Spain, or Germany) is currently offline for maintenance. The European Commission VIES portal cannot reach that specific member state.
Resolution: The number is not necessarily invalid. Wait 1–2 hours (or until Monday morning if on a weekend) and rerun the check on the affected rows.

2. Google "Authorization Required" Screen

Cause: When first launching a Google Sheets add-on, Google requires user consent for permissions declared in the manifest.
Resolution: Click Continue, select your Google account, and grant access. BulkVAT uses @OnlyCurrentDoc and cannot access any files outside your active spreadsheet.

3. Large Spreadsheet Batch Stopped at 4.5 Minutes

Cause: This is a normal safety mechanism. Google Apps Script enforces a 6-minute execution limit. BulkVAT stops early to prevent Google from terminating the run with an unrecoverable timeout.
Resolution: Do nothing! BulkVAT automatically schedules a background trigger that wakes the script after a brief pause to process the next chunk of rows seamlessly.

4. Activating Your Pro License Key

Step-by-step:

1. Open the BulkVAT sidebar in Google Sheets (Extensions > BulkVAT > Open Sidebar).
2. Click the Settings button at the top right of the sidebar.
3. Paste your license key from your Lemon Squeezy confirmation email into the License Key field.
4. Click Save & Activate License. Lifetime Pro is unlocked immediately.
